Alice in Wonderland

Picture: Natalia Vodianova as Alice and Olivier Theyskens as Lewis Caroll
Why do we love Lewis Carolls Alice in Wonderland so much??? *
Unless you watched Tim Burtons DVD last night, you'll remember this: a cute little (blonde) girl & her "accessories" that create this dream-feel-weird-world. There's the clock, the rabbit, the mirror and a bunch of fuzzy woozy phantasmagoric animals & characters. You probably ran into Alice for the first time through the legendary Disney cartoon. That is if your Mum wasn't this left wing intellectual who made you "read" a copy of the 1865 illustrated (lucky you) "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (our "Caroll-man") at 5.

"Off with her Head" shouts "The Queen" (John Galliano)
Ever since, Alice has been interpreted, transformed, smashed, trashed & reinstated in all sorts of art forms. There's Malice Alice, gothic-neurotic-erotic Alice, ... The one we love most is the romantic-stylish one as featured by Russian super model Natalia Vodianova in Annie Liebovitz VOGUE US shooting. The pictures are from 2003 but could’ve been in today’s edition. Fashion Photography with capital F. & P. Or why Vogue is Vogue. Underneath you'll find Alice-inspired accessories. Now why would we do that?

Josh -Clock - €65 Christelle dit Christensen - Clock - €39
For the mere purpose of selling?????? OooooOOH NoooooOOOO! We just like to advice you do not have to buy these devine Haute Couture outfits to have someone tell you "oooooooh it's a bit like 'Alice in Wonderland' what you're wearing". You'd need Jean-Paul Gaultier play the Cheshire cat, Viktor & Rolf as Tweedledum & Tweedledee or Marc Jacobs as the Caterpillar. So even if you had the budget for the clothes, THAT would be difficult to fix. No, no. Go for the accessories.
They're perfect! You'll hear: "Oooooooooooh, Alice!!!!!" Just stay elegant and don't reply "Alice? Who the *ahum ahum* is Alice?"
